Alternate Treatment Options
If you go through side effects associated with Generic Cordarone, or are using medications that may interact with the medicine harmfully, your healthcare provider may prefer to suggest a different medication like Flecainide (Tambocor) or Dronedarone for your uneven heartbeat. Carry on using Amiodarone unless instructed by your physician, and do not unexpectedly end treatment without your physician's recommendation.
Warnings
Using Generic Cordarone for a relatively long period of time can also cause a bluish-gray skin staining, even if this habitually disappears after a patient quits treatment of Amiodarone. Amiodarone contains a number of probably lethal toxicities, the most significant of which is toxicity affecting the lungs, and therefore is simply indicated for patients with dangerous cardiac arrhythmia.
